GOVERNANCE & ELECTIONS
The World Council meets every four years, and is the highest decision-making body of the World Alliance of YMCAs.

Setting our direction
The World Council is “responsible for setting the policies and direction of the World Alliance, electing its Officers and Executive Committee, evaluating the work of the last four years, and deliberating on priorities for the next quadrennium.”
There are three key Officers to be elected: a President of World YMCA, a Deputy President and a Treasurer. World Council will also elect the 11 members of the World YMCA Executive Committee. The Committee carries out the policy and specific instructions of the World Council, and monitors the work, finances and personnel of the World Alliance of YMCAs.The Committee carries out the policy and specific instructions of the World Council, and monitors the work, finances and personnel of the World Alliance of YMCAs.
